Day 1: Arrive UB
By your arrival in UB meet by our guide and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Explore UB
Today we will do city site seeing tour. Explore Gandan Monastery,Buddhist center in Ulaanbaatar.See

The winter Palace
Buda Big Statue on the Hill
Typical folkloric Mongol performance ( songs and dances) , at the restaurant, during Dinner time (optional),

Day 3 Fly to Ulgii
Transfer to the airport and fly 4hrs to Bayan-Ulgii aimag. Met by local kazakh guide and drive to the edge of town and overnight in Canat’s Ger Camp. The time for the flight may be early morning departure or mid day departure. It varies between the years. Only 15 kgs of luggage is included in the air ticket, and each additional kg will cost USD 2. There is one hour time difference between Ulgii and Ulaanbaatar.
Day 4 to Altai Tavan Bogd
Departure by 4wd minivans (Forgons) 165 km along the north-westernly route . towards to Tsagaan Gol valley.When we reach the road end, with the support of camels, we will trek for 11km to the base camp area at the edge of the 20km long Potanina glacier, that runs down from the highest mountains in Mongolia. We will pitch our camp right here. Tavanbogd means “The Holy Five” referring to the peaks of Huiten (4374m and the highest), Nairamdal, Burget, Malchin and Tavan Bogd. It is a stunning setting with the awe inspiring massif of high snow capped peaks.
Day 5 Peak Malchin
Climb Malchin peak 4025m.Come back to Base camp same day.
Day 6 Rest
Day 7-8 Peak Huitin
First day go up to ABC,possible climb to Tavan Bogd and spend night there.Second day early morning to start climbing to Huitin 4374m. Come back to Base Camp.
Day 9 to Ulgii
Walk or ride back to road end where our vechicles meet us and spend night there.Half day drive towards to Ulgii. If not on the first day, now we will visit the local sights of this rather ugly town. Instead of a market it has a bazaar, with distinct kazakh ambience, instead of a Buddhist monastery it has a mosque.Visit the most interesting local museum of Ulgii, with comprehensive information of flora and fauna of Bayan-Ulgii as well as it colourful traditional costumes. Visit a handicraft shop. In the evening short Kazakh Traditional concert.
Day10 Fly to UB
After breakfast, transfer to Olgyi airport to catch a flights leave for Ulaanbaatar. Meet by our guide in UB and transfer to hotel 3*.(B)
Day 11 Free day in UB
Shopping for Mongolian cashmere and wool things , city tour.
Overnight in 3* hotel.(B)
Day 12 Transfer to Chinggis Airport
After breakfast,transfer to Chinggis Airport and depart UB.(B)
Some recommendations: Summer months in Mongolia are from early June to mid September.Although the Mongolian summers are hot and dry with occasional rain, the temperature can fluctuate as much 20 degrees centigrade between day and night.So be prepared for all weather conditions.
What to bring: Binoculars,sunscreen,a hat,gloves,long underware for travel in the high mountains,comfortable footware,lip balm,sanitary hand wipes,sunglasses,prescription medications,(if needed),rain gear,flashlight.
Transport: Western Mongolian families frequently move from one pasture to the other using camels.The services of some herdsmen will be hired by the expedition, and they will provide us with their animals.
Staff: A local guide who speaks English and Mongolian will accompany the group at all times.A cook will follow, with an assistant.In addition, the services of the local herdsmen will be hired along with their animals.The horsemen follow a traditional lifestyle in the areas where we will be riding.
Meals: Our cook will prepare the meals.We pride ourselves in having cooks adapt to both western and Mongolian cooking on our trips.There are always vegetables available, and we have no problem accommodating vegetarians on our trips.For breakfast we can usually buy fresh yogurt from the herdsmen in the local area.
